What you need to know before installing or replacing an electric or gas appliance!
Did you know it is illegal to do your own Electrical, Plumbing or Gas works?
If you do any of this work without using a Licenced Trades Person, even at your own property, you may receive a fine from the Office of the Technical Regulator. Plus, if your workmanship causes an accident or fire, you are responsible and liable for all the damages caused to yourself and others.
The other issues that will arise by not having a Licenced Trades Person is YOU WILL NULL AND VOID your WARRANTIES with your Retailer and the Manufacturer.
Finding a Qualified Trades Person in South Australia is crucial but thankfully easy. Go to www.cbs.sa.gov.au and check that the Trades Person holds the appropriate licence.
Upon completion of the works, the Trades Person is required to issue you a Certificate of Compliance (COC) and an invoice. You should keep both of these for five years, as proof that the work has been done correctly and by a Qualified Trades Person.
